Elliot Broidy: New York Business Entrepreneur and Philanthropist

Elliot Broidy is Chairman and CEO of Broidy Capital Management, a private investment company he founded in 1991. Mr. Broidy is also Chairman of the Board of ESI Holdings, Inc., an event management and logistics company. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Foley Timber and Land Company and Vantis Capital Management LLC, a registered investment advisor and as a Commissioner of the Los Angeles City Fire and Police Pension Fund.

Mr. Broidy is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and serves on the governing boards of several large charitable and educational organizations, including the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business - Center for Investment Studies, Hebrew Union College, and Wilshire Boulevard Temple. He was also a founding member of the Board of Governors of the California-Israel Chamber of Commerce, an organization promoting trade with and encouraging investment in Israel.

From 1982 to 1991, Mr. Broidy was Managing Director of Bell Enterprises, a private investment company. In this role, he was involved in a wide range of investments, including management of marketable securities, real estate, private equity and other alternative investments. Mr. Broidy began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. and is a Certified Public Accountant.

In a February 2008, the Gateways organization sponsored their 10th Anniversary Gala Benefit at New York’s Waldorf-Astoria hotel. As part of that benefit, Gateways gathered Benyamin Netanyahu and number of other major international political and business leaders. To join the Raoul Wallenberg Committee of the United States in bestowing the Raoul Wallenberg Award on esteemed investor and philanthropist Elliott Broidy.

In presenting the award to Broidy, the Wallenberg Committee cited his sustained commitment to a multitude of Jewish community and educational organizations both domestically and in Israel, coupled with his work in establishing Israel’s largest private equity fund for the purpose of strengthening the traditional, ‘low-tech’ sectors within Israel’s economy.
